  1. Servicing a car is a very complicated job. What level are these students? In Australia our apprentices would do this in their third year of study in their college and get some practice in their workplaces.

    1. Our adult courses, which I teach, runs for 56 weeks and the service course starts as number 4. The first course we teach our students are Occupational health and safety then Basic Vehicle Technical Course after that, in about six to eight weeks we start the service course. This helps the students to get a overall insight of car construction and helps them to consolidate the names of the parts. And it is vital that the students are familiar with car service before they go out on their first workshop practice.

    1. Oh yes, since our school is located on the premises of Volvos plant aria here in Gothenburg, we are aloud to use their recycling center which is located just across the street from our school entrance. So we collect all our waste oil and give it back to the car producer. Serves him right. Wouldn't you say. :)

  3. This is funny Lasse. But it does point out that we need to teach our students to be conscious of the environment and the need for safe disposal of waste. This is a big problem in Australia and while the large plants have safe disposal units some of the smaller ones do not.I will put a picture up on the blog of a way we try and teach our stduents about this in the country areas.

    1. It's a pity it often has to be so expensive to dispose of our waste. That doesn't encourage people to be environmentally conscious.
